The name for this sauce literally translates to Chili (Phrik) Fish Sauce (nam plaa).
Well actually Nam Plaa translated really literally means “fish water” but that to me sounds kinda like fish pee, so we’ll go for ‘fish sauce’. 🙂
This sauce is to be found everywhere in Thailand. You can make it in2 minutes and you can serve it with many Thai dishes.
You can also use it as a dressing for salads or dip your spring rolls in it. It will give you incredible amounts of flavor.
Below is the recipe, all that flavor in two minutes, can you imagine?
Nam Plaa Phrik
- 1 cloves garlic
- 2 Thai chilies remove the seeds if you want it less spicy!
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
Slice the garlic very finely and then push with the side of your knife on it to crush it and get all the juices out
Mix all the ingredients together in a little sauce bowl and serve!
